FROM THE 23RD CENTURY
Dr. Ivanovitch’s work in the field of VR for social impact was first funded in the US by the Roddenberry Foundation (Star Trek).
Gene Roddenberry created the show Star Trek to think beyond the divides of mankind and to respond to the public’s hunger for brotherhood.
The Roddenberry Foundation in Los Angeles, CA gave Dr. Ivanovitch seminal funding to start her VR ventures and explore how we can use today’s technology to materialize some of Star Trek’s ideals: inclusive collaboration and peaceful exploration.
Dr. Alexandra Ivanovitch’s VR work for older adults has received an innovation award from the US National Academy of Medicine in 2020.
VIRTUAL REALITY TO BUILD YOUR OWN FUTURE
Dr. Ivanovitch’s team at EQLab is building a metaverse that provides essential public services. This metaverse in-progress already comprises a Career Simulator for better access to employment, a 3D school for equitable remote learning, a Youth Simulator for older adults.
